Ideas for Economics
Needs and Wants:  Bring in a bunch of magazines.  Make a T-chart have the students label My needs and My wants.  Students then cut out pictures and glue them under the appropriate heading.

Supply and Demand
: Have students take 3 things out of their desks for a "pretend" sale.  Give students stickers (like the ones for garage sales) and have the students come up with a price for each item to display.  Then have the students walk around and compare the items and prices.  This leads into a great discussion about supply and demand.  If most students pulled out a ruler, students will want to buy the cheapest one.  After a discussion about supply and demand have students write about what they have learned.

Goods and Services: Take pictures of various business or use clipart.  Have students identify if the business provides a good or a service.  Next have the student draw themselves using the good or service.  For example, Have a picture of a vet's office.  A vet's office is providing a service, and the student can draw themselves with a dog or a cat.

Service Coupons: After teaching lessons on goods/services have students make up coupons for their parents.  I have my students create 5 coupons listing the service they will provide, and how many times they would provide that service.  Makes a great Mother's Day or Father's Day idea.
